 Kidangoor Sree Maha Ganapathy
Temple is ideally located on the Ettumanoor-Palai route(Reaching Kidangoor
Junction take turn to Manarkkad route), adjacent to Sree Kidangoor Subramanya Swamy
temple, on the banks of Meenachil river in Kottayam Dist.
This temple was constructed by Sri.P K Parameswaran Nair,who is a family member
of Madathil Veedu of Pirayar(Pirayar Kara).He used to take his food only after taking
the theertham from the Pazhavangadi Sree Mahaganapathy Temple.He got a dream vision
that Shree Maha Ganapathy wishes to have a temple in Kidangoor. So according to
the vision, he built a temple in his home town.
He was the guiding light and founder of Varma Group,Trivandrum (The First Tour operator
service in Trivandrum) and First retail outlet holder of Burma Shell(Now Bharat
Petroleum) at Kowdiar also the proprietor of Varma Travels,Varma Travels Fuel Centre,Shiva
Parvathy Kalyana Mandapam, Sree Padmam Kalyana Mandapam, Sree Raja Rajeswari Kalyana
Mandapam .He was a great devotee of Lord Ganesha and regular visitor of Pazahavangadi
Sree Maha Ganapthy Temple ,Trivandrum. He constructed the temple as a respectful
homage to his diety,in 1995.The most attractive feature
that gave a person, who enter the temple is the different idols of various forms
of Ganesha on the walls.
